My m8 is having trouble connecting to xbox live...he wants to connect via his laptop running windows xp sp2
he has a belkin router connected to a modem supplied with virgin media aswell...he has a belkin wireless card in his laptop but he cant access the internet on his laptop and his xbox 360 wont connect to the laptop or the belkin router (wireless)

danThe main reason why you're having problems is that the Belkin router is not supported for XBOX Live. You need to buy a Netgear router (which will cost you about 40 bucks), Most of their models are compatible and most likely will solve your problem. Check Xbox.com of those Netgear models before making a purchase. (Also be handy to talk to a associate at like Best Buy or someplace that knows routers and XBOX LIVE)

Do This from control panel-network connections and select both icons for the different connections and right click "bridge connections".I believe the Belkin router is not supported by Xbox Live. You may need to get a new router. Xbox will try and make you buy their $100 router, but don't do it. Waste of money. Get something cheaper. Then just follow one of the many guides out there to get set up.well, if he want to connect through his laptop, just connect it with a cord from his laptop to his 360...is there internet workin on his laptop? email me so i can better tourbleshoot u.
edit: ummmm, ok directly connect ur modem to ur laptop to make sure the connection for the internet is there. (make sure ur router is compatible wit ur 360#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
