old TV --> resolution problem

  • Hi,
    I'm quite new to XBMC, only been running it for 2 days now. I spent these 2 days resolving a network issue which ended up being a registry problem on m shared drive host...
    Anyway, while working hard to resolve problems is formative, it can get really frustrating... which leads me here.

    My xbox is plugged in an old TV, probably 10-12 years old. When I'm playing games, the image is perfect, no complain.
    However, when I go in XBMC, the resolution is terrible (i can hardly see what is written on the screen).
    I guess it is a simple fix but I have no idea where to start. Can anyone help??

    By the way, getting a new TV is not an option :laugh:

  • You'll want to adjust the flicker and soften settings (in Settings -> Appearance -> Screen).

    I've got 2 SD tvs (one 27" and one 15") both with an Xbox hooked up. XBMC's always been difficult to read on the smaller TV, you just have to play with the settings to get the best image. One day we'll upgrade....

  • More info on your TV, cables to the Xbox, and a debug log from XBMC would be needed.

    PS! Have you calibrated the screen in XBMC settings.
