  • I am very tgood friends with my riding instrouctor. Last month I had a really good instructor. With my current instructor she never lets me try anything new. I think this is because she had a really bad fall. What should I do. (i can not change instructors).

  • Are you good friends with your current instructor or previous instructor? Either way try talking with her and expressing how you feel. All riding instructors are different, she may be overly cautious because she doesn't want you to get hurt. Make sure she knows the new things you'd like to try. If she's not letting you maybe she feels you're not quite ready? Or it truly just could be because she's trying to protect herself buy not letting you take more risks, she doesn't want to be blamed for any accidents that may happen. Just looking at it from a riding instructors point of view as I used to give lessons full time. Just make sure the lessons are worth your money. . .it's an expensive sport! Good luck!

  • Well, if you 'cannot' change instructors, your only choice is to make do with the one you have. I don't see why you can't change if you had a different instructor a month ago. Why not just go back to that one?

You can always suggest to your instructor things you might want to try. "I read in an article about posting canter. Do you think I could learn that?"

  • Well sit your current instructor down and explain the situation. Keeping things up front is the best way to maintain a relationship.
