  • I have isolated the leak on the bottom of the radiator core (there are no leaks anywhere else). It is quite obvious as I now have huge puddles under my truck. What are my options and how much will it cost to repair it?

  • There are many problems that could go wrong with a radiator. could be as small as a radiator cap or cracked radiator, you could have overfilled fluid or need a new hose. replacing your old radiator and buying new hose's for it should fix the problem.

  • Go new!.

  • It's really probably best if you get it repaired at a radiator shop. The additives do work but only for a limited time.

  • 1) the radiator will have to be dismantled in a shop.
    2) top and bottom ends of the radiator will be removed by heating up the soldered connections.
    3) since this is just an isolated leak, top and bottom ends of the particular element which has the hole will be soldered (or cut off from the system)
In my country, labor cost will be less than US$10.
It is normal to have higher volume of leak when the engine is running because the cooling water is flowing under pressure.

  • Best to replace the radiator unless it's a hard to find item. If the radiator is leaking due to corrosion, you will have more problems if you just repair the leak.
