Have you ever had your answers deleted?

  • I'm familiar with having my questions reported but answer violations are new to me. I must have really ticked someone off for them to start reporting my answers. Does the two report rule apply to answers as well?

  • Yes and for silly reasons. This gives people too much power sometimes!

  • Yes, I've had a couple reported and removed. I can't remember why. I think they were answers that I thought would be humorous, but apparently they didn't fly with the questioner.

  • I had an answer deleted about a month ago. It was selected as Best Answer. It received a violation which I questioned and the answer was that the violation would remain and the points were removed. The question disappeared, too. I have no idea why, it seemed like a reasonable and harmless answer.
I understand how you feel about this. It is something new to me.

  • ...as I deal daily with my poor Cincy Reaper being violated left and right,I know how very frustrating it can be.....just the way the Yahoo universe goes....you will always offend someone,no way around it,,,,make a file, dump your violations in and you'll have something to giggle over on a boring day...

  • Sure - it seems to indicate you're doing a good job here. Keep on, move on!

  • No - I never have. There are many people in this world that have very little life - and even fewer brains, so they think it amusing to mess with other peoples questions and answers! Cheer Up HDB - these violations make you a Yahoo Answers veteran! Just wear them like a badge of honor!
Edit - I have however, received several violations for "chatting"! Oh! well - - -

  • Once, when I asked "What is your favorite pie?". Never did figure THAT one out. Maybe I added too many comments after the fact.
I'm not familiar with the two report rule.

  • oh, yeah ! I've had both, questions and answers removed, SEVERAL TIMES, and (like the others have posted) for "various" reasons.

Once, I appealed for a question removal, and after several days, they sent a note saying it was "chatting".

Well, LA, DEE, DAAA !. SO WHAT IF I WAS !

(Actually, I forgot what the question was.)

I have never heard of the "two report" rule,
is that like the 5 personal fouls you get in basketball ?

  • Oh yea. Just had one answer deleted today. But it was worth it!!! *smile*

  • yes i have had my fair share!! nuff said!!!

  • I've had a question deleted : I placed it in P&S and the notice I got said it should have been placed in wordplay. That was in the first week I joined YA.

I had : 0773# deleted as my answer to someones question of :

    kdiejrflrerrr9649fiu9ehfe985.

I thought I was being witty writing "hello" backwards and upside down with numbers but apparently it was rude and against the rules.

I've deleted some of my own questions when people answer with rubbish like "jfdoirhkhf " to a medical question, in order to discourage further stupidity.

and I have reported questions in P&S and Mental Health where someone has mentioned someone actual name or posted a photo of someone and the asker asks the public if they think the person is ugly or some other personal rude comment.

  • Yes , just as I was hitting the preview button and I don't know where the answer went. It was like Y/A disagreed with my answer before it was even posted.

  • i had my answer deleted before, i have no clue why :( i guess people get pissed easy and cant handle the truth, w/e though. they can live life in lies.

  • No..but I had a user block me who asked a question and I answered it honestly and not in a rude way....just another person who can't handle the truth. :)

  • Yes, I have had that happen. Yes, the 2 reporter rule applies to answers as well. Many people have 2 or 3 YA identities so it is no problem for one person who wants to get your posts deleted to do this on their own. They just use 3 identities and get you.

I'm always honest with my answers and guess that hacks some people off. I think some of the people using YA are here to form their personal fan clubs instead of wanting real answers. They can't permit disagreement is my guess. Please don't let it discourage your participation. I appreciate your thought provoking questions and always take the time to read your answers. We don't always have to agree on things, do we?

  • i had one deleted last week. i'm guessing because nobody ever answered it.

  • I have had questions and answers deleted.
All part of the game. When it becomes a problem or a
nuisance it is best to take a break for a while. There seems
to be no rhyme or reason to it all sometimes.

  • I had my question removed, and still have no clues as to why. Don't know how to ask or how to appeal.

  • I've never been deleted so I do not know - you may want to contact Yahoo Service to find out and to possibly have the reports reversed if you can validate your responses.

  • I have had answers deleted before, actually just one. It was in reference to Republicans and I referred to them as inbred pricks. I am not sure what the 2 report rule is, I have to look that one up.

  • Whatever 2 reliable member means, Does that mean they have reliable member that do the reporting l,o.l But guess what we found out today? There is no community guideline what we put in our profile we can say anything we want, even slander another member, cuss, so when you click on someones profile beware.

  • Yes. My answer to your question about walking into a room and feeling that people have been talking to you was removed-- "neither a question nor an answer." Just in case you missed the video link, here it is again.

I fully expect for this to be reported also. But I don't care.
