  • Hello!

Do you know how to export from flash 8 professional to .mov or some other format that is not flash and does not downgrade the quality or interactivity?

All I have been able to figure out is exporting it to .mov but it requires that i put it down to flash 5 and then all of the interactive things i got going on doesnt work...

    Thanks for any help!

  • HA! HA! I think Ive figured it out! After you publish the swf file you open it and go to file and then click Create Projector and that saves it as an .exe which any computer can read as far as I am aware of.

Ohhhh Okay. I thought you wanted to export you animations and play them as avi's instead or mpegs. I duno if .exe's work on macs though. THey dont right? Mac Experts? Maybe it makes it a different format for macs for self-extracting swfs..

  • for all i know you cannot convert swf into something movie that is functional/ interactive.

but if you're trying for the animation only, you can't export it into something that is not there, but you can convert it.

anyone have any converter? i can't find any free converter out there

  • Yeah, doesnt work on a mac because exe is dos based - unless maybe one had the bridge program between Macs and PCs that they make now-a days... not sure about that part.

What I am actually trying to do is make the flash openable on any computer even if it does not have flash player. This is not going on the web. - But here's another question... I have FLVs in this flash and when I export it it and save it as exe its all fine and works but if I move it at all then the FLVs do not show up. Now I know that the FLVs have a certain path that they need to stay at but it doesnt make sense to me that If I move the swf or exe then the FLVs dont play.... Any data on this?

Also, if I need to send this to someone else to review how do I send them the whole thing and then when they open it it will play the FLVs? any easy way to do this?

  • yeah, thats what I have come to as well.

But I did see metion of wroking with Flash and After Effects... Im checking this out now. If anyone knows anything about this it would be nice to know more about it.

    I'll post what I find.

  • Hay! Thanks! I think this is what I'm lookin for, Im checking it out right now.

The thing that I mentioned earlier about After Effects - From what I see its a plugin you get if you have MX Professional and then you can export swf from After Effects. Not what I was looking for but maybe someone else could use it. Here's the site I found:

  • I've done the opposite, exporting from adobe to flash (.flv). but yeah, that would be kinda of a cool little tool to have. Here is what I have found just from google.

    http://www.winavi.com/swf-to-avi.htm and http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Multimedia_and_Graphics/Misc__Graphics_Tools/Swf_Avi_Convert____Free_Converter___.html
    both free?
