» Track shoes at practice?
When I run at track practice, do I wear my track shoes without the spikes? Or do I wear something else. I only have one pair of track shoes. You should buy trainers or sneakers for practice spikes are only for races I would suggest investing in a separate pair of running shoes to run in for practices. Save your track spikes for meets. If you aren't able to invest in a separate pair of running shoes you could wear the track shoes without spikes for practice and put the spikes in when you run in meets. Hope this helps. You DO NOT want to wear them at practice all the time. I know from experience this causes nothing but trouble. Yea its fine to wear them here and there but not every day. This is the main cause of shin splints. It may soun...... - 2010-03-09

» I have a question on adding a line on wirefly.com?
Yeah i am thinking of adding a line on my att family plan how exaclty does it work. Does it have to do with the social security number? Can you please answerWirefly will ask you for your entire ss# to verify you are the owner of the account and authorized to make changes or add to the account. AT&T only asks for the last 4 of your ss#. I told them I was uncomfortable doing so and they verified me by asking me to answer question about what cities and address I'd lived in before. It's easy to add a line. I just told them what number I wanted to add and they did it, it was pretty simple. It took a while on their because they had to add it from an existing individual AT&T plan. I hope this helps....... - 2010-03-09
» Video Library issues
Hello all, this is my first post, so be gentle;) I've a couple of, erm issues with the video library, and I'm not sure if they are actual problems, or just because I'm doing things wrong, I cant see anything in the docs to help me out. I'm running a t3ch release from within the last month or two, 2.0 skins and whatnot, all my videos are on an external drive running through a computer sharing it as SAMBA. I have videos that the video library doesn't doesn't add. Basically, none of the scrapers can find any info (fair enough - some are pretty old transfers from vhs), but because the scraper can't find them they simply don't appear in the library. How do I get round this, short of hand editing the XML file myself? doing 'manually...... - 2010-03-09

» Special remote for my Sony DVD player
Hi there, I own a Sony DVD player, DVP-S725D. (a standalone box) I live in region 4, and my player is coded to region 4. But I have some region 1 discs I want to play. There are several codes I have found out, listed specifically for my model, which allow the region code to be changed at will. However they require the entry of number codes on the remote control. My remote control (the factory standard one) has no numbers on it. So what kind of remote do I need to actually use these types of codes and where can I buy one?http://www.techtronics.com/uk/images/sony/sony-725-X.jpg This picture seems to indicate that there are indeed numbers on your DVD player's factory standard remote. » Central Heating Pump .......?
Can anyone tell me how to determine which of the 3 pump speeds to use (selectable on the pump)? For instance, is it a case of using the lowest speed that will keep all the rads hot, or would the system be more efficient at a higher speed? It is an old (but working fine) floor-standing boiler serving a copper tank and 6 radiators (TRVs on 5) - all on one level. The pump serves the radiator circuit only. Thank you in advance.Lowest speed that heats all the radiators up was usual rule. Reduces noises in radiators, and uses marginally less electricity.pump speed does not come into the efficiency equasion, but speed 2 should be fine.On an old system ,such as yours you could boost the efficiency by having it flushed out after applying a cleansin...... - 2010-03-09

» Trash can wet/dry Vac
How about a wet/dry vac that would fit on a 32 galon trash can? It could have a flat base which would cover the top of various size trash cans and be secured to the can by clamping it to the handles or the rim. The bottom side of the base could be covered with some high density foam to make the seal to the top of the can. The advantage of this configuration is you could fill up a can with debris and then move the vac to another. you then just place the trash can's lid on it and haul it away. This would be great for use on bulky materials like sawdust, wood shavings from power tools like planers and joiners, etc. Also work with leaves for yard work and for picking up water. Greetings, Back in college, I really got in to photography, took some classes, bought a Cannon Rebel SLR, and fancied myself a photographer. I have discovered to my dismay that my wife, with no training, is a much better photographer than I will ever be. She isn't very technical minded, but she has an intuitive eye that I will never match. Anywho, I would like to get her a large format camera (or at least a nice lens for the Cannon) she can use for her black and whites, but have no idea where to begin. The old 35mm SLR still takes pretty good pictures, but she would dig something a bit more professional. We do not possess our own darkroom, so I'm not sure if we should break from 35mm or not. My first course of action was to copy all the text into a new table in a new document. I wrote a procedure that stored the text in each cell in an array of strings (only the characters, no formatting), and then put that in a new table. I copied over hyperlinks in the same way. Buddy, let me tell you something. No, not necessarily. Micheal Shermer, publisher of Skeptic magazine, put it best, when something like this happens and it actually happens, you might think "what are the odds?" Well let's examine them. The average person has about 5 dreams per day, which equals 1,825 dreams a year. Even if you only remember 1/10 dreams (you will forget most of them) that's still 182.5 remembered dreams per year. There are 295 billion Americans (Go America!), so that means there will be 53.8 billion remembered dreams every year. The most secure browser at the moment seems to be Opera (not because it has the least number of bugs, but because its userbase is not as high as IE or Firefox and its code is not open source...therefore it has the least number of KNOWN bugs) Point Number 3: Browsing speed - to an extent, Opera is faster than others because of better handling of cache. what is the net force of an object?Force on Earth is a weight. What is called net is really the sum of all the weight bearing down on a Beam. The total weight on a beam equals the sum of the reactions. Force is a function of Gravity Power pushing down on a object. Gravity power is defined as the product of a force and the velocity that the force moves. Einstein described force as a distortion of Space; Hence a net force is a net distortion of warped Space. To determine a net weight for more exact calculation you have to add up all the warped space together into one lump. This would give you the Real net force. In simple terms, if someone is sitting on top of your head ,you would feel a" net force".This is the sum of all the forces ...... - 2010-03-09

In this one, if you do what it says, you will get a decimal number: 1 divided by 5 = 0.2 which converts to 20% by moving the decimal over two places. You only need to multiply a fraction by 100. 1/5 x 100 = 100/5 = 20 % one is to 5 as blank is to 100 1/5=x/100 100/5=x x=20 percent.(top number / bottom number)*100you need the bottom # to be 100...so multiply 5 by 20...then do the same to the top # ....it shou...... - 2010-03-09

» Listing files by size on unix base OSes
How can I output a list of all files in a directory or filesystem sorted by size and printed in more human readable units such as MB rather than bytes (a la 'ls -lh' or 'df -h')? The answer I'm looking for will be: * universal enough to work on Mac OS X, Linux, and Solaris * simple enough that i won't have to have it aliased in my shell rc file * as fast an efficient as possibleHi there, From a bit of brief experimentation, it seems that the "ls" command supports two options that would accomplish what you wanted. "-S" Sorts descendingly by size. "-h" Shows size in human readable format (but it looks like you already knew that one). So together, "ls -lhS" will do the job. I cannot confirm or deny that th...... - 2010-03-09
» What's the worst if I abandon my credit card debt for about 5 years?
Very simple. A chance at a great job has come up but it will take me out of the country and it will basically be like I am dead for the next five years or so. I want to take the job but I'm worried about what will happen regarding the credit card debt I would be leaving. I know that it will go to collection and my credit rating will die, I don't really care about that since there is a good chance I won't be coming back to Canada and where I would be going I would never need credit. A former employer said just abandon it since in 7 years out of the country my credit would be at zero anyways and as I said, I don't care about my credit rating. I'll stop rambling and get to the point. Should I abandon my credit c...... - 2010-03-09
» Does Mrs. Claus have a first name?
Seriously! It could be Margie for all we know. (not that I have anything wrong with that name, it's just so unChrsitmassy.)Hmm, not sure. It should be something like Holly or Carol, but I am intrigued to know! :) Mrs. Claus' full name is Jessica Mary Claus. Her mother picked her middle name after the mother of Jesus. Don't know if it is true or not, but apparently this is what these people say.I don't think there is an official first name. In the Santa Clause movies with Tim Allen, her name is Carol.I don't know, it can be anything you want it to be!CHRISTinaDon't click on Hubie and Blount's links. They are viruses. » Saying "Your welcome"
I was wondering if there was a "you're welcome" statement in japanese. There are all the normal beginning learning a language type phrases like please(onegai shimasu/kudasai), thank you(arigatou), and other stuff like that but I don't know if there's any kind of response to "thank you." Do they have generic being-polite responses for thank you? From what I've heard, it's always "Dou Itashimashite." but that's for formal situations and there are probably others that are less or more formal.Simply saying hh is very common, there may be others as well though.I think Stutz is right. I'm interested in getting together with this man.. Him and I are casual friends. Don't want a relationship. What would you do to hint to him that you want sex? I never see him alone so it's difficult. FYI - We are both adults in our 30's!By email ? Text ? Handwritten note ? In person after a few drinks ? Lots of close personal body contact and let him do the rest.. He will be flattered whichever way you choose.other than just coming out and saying it i think you should start by getting some alone time together. its easier to come out and ask him to come over to your house one night than to ask him to have sex. once you get him alone make more moves to hint around to sex and see where it goes.Pull him aside an...... - 2010-03-09

I would like to find a sticker for my scooter that is just the Charlton Athletic crest. Does anyone know where I can get something like that? I looked at the CAFC online store but they only have bumper stickers which are sorta ugly (and too large). Anyone have any ideas?Update, I thought I'd just get one of the ugly Charlton Athletic bumper stickers from their site that has a full crest on it, and just cut out the crest and put it on my scooter... but alas, they want 15 pounds for shipping! » Book Publishing - small time at the moment!
I own a small, but superb, New, Remaindered and Hard-To-Find Bookstore in Whitstable, Kent, England. This year I hope to start publishing, as a PROPER publisher, some works by friends and clients. I have done the usual A4/A5 printing off and spiral binding with a colour cover, but now want to do it PROPER! My first paid-for commision is a mans biography of his wife and is 64000 words. it isn't illustrated, but could easily be supported with photos. I simply want to become a proper publisher taking commisions and arranging printing and distribution etc myself. My question? How do I start as a publisher in the UK and are there different catergories for photobooks (which we aim to start soon) from the biography described above? ...... - 2010-03-09

» My first portfolio?
OK, well... I've decided to put together a portfolio of my work. I've already been thinking about it and I don't want to have a LOT of photos in it. My main questions are, what photos should I show, and how many should there be? I've started to throw some that I think reflect 'me' the best into this album: http://photobucket.com/albums/b215/Lumi723/ I only have eight photos there... but I think they may be good for my portfolio; what do you think? Also, to present it should I have it in a 'photobook' look that they can flip through and see each photo(with maybe some text)? I understand there are sooo many different ways to do this. But I would really like to get started. The first thing I will probably do with it is get into a photo...... - 2010-03-09

I've heard good things about yoga in recent years. I am trying to loose weight, and am very interested in yoga. But I'm not flexible enough to join a class. I've tried to do some videos on my own but I can't even get close to some of the positions the instructor can do then I get frustrated and give up. » Your top five albums of 2008?
What are your top five music releases of 2008? My list: 1.) Volume 1 - She & Him This album absolutely knocked my socks off. BY FAR the best of the year. I didn't know they still made 'em like this. Upon the very first listen I could tell these songs are timeless classics that feel like they have a life of their own. No other album gave me that impression this year no matter how good they were. And the singer/songwriter is a very pretty girl to boot. Zooey Deschanel is one of the greatest female vocalists of all time as far as I'm concerned. Her beautiful voice is so refreshing because it doesn't have that moany/breathy sound that turns me off of almost all other current female singers. I'm excited about music ...... - 2010-03-09

» Did the Rays rotation pitch above their heads last season?
Kaz, Shields, and Garza showed what they could do, but I really believe that Jackson and Sonny pitched way above their potential. Jackson won't be able to put those numbers up every season, so I say put 'im in the pen. But their rotation is still probably the most talented. Actually they have not even developed. The Rays have 6 guys who could take a spot on any rotation in Baseball right now. They also have a couple guys who are more of a longshot but much better than most team's 4th and 5th starters on top of that. Key thing is continued development. The Rays will need that depth most likely as one or two of their rotation will go down with injury or ineffectiveness but that depth combined with continued development mean...... - 2010-03-09

I'm trying to decide on a Christmas tree. Which do you prefer artificial trees or fresh ones, and why?Artificial. 1. Prelit trees are amazingly easier for set-up. 2. If you want pine smell it comes as an air freshener. 3. With the scent many people can't tell if it's real or fake anyway. 4. Sharp decrease in the potential for a house fire. Artificial are made to avoid catching fire. Real trees aren't. 5. Pine needles falling all over your floor won't dictate when you take your tree down. Why is no one talking about this?Yep and then put up the tax on fuel to get the money back :)There are two better solutions than that: 1) Increase the GI Bill (retroactive) by $10-15,000 for all veterans and give active duty personnel the same amount of money to buy any American made car. 2) Tell the Big 3 that the government fleet after 2010 will consist of 90% hybrids and battery operated cars. That will give them the incentive to retool the factories for the production of these vehicles. My question is, why doesn't the government just stay out of the way of business? Leave the auto industry and ev...... - 2010-03-09

» Subaru Forester....is it a good first car for a new driver?
I've nailed down a good deal on a slightly used, 2008 subaru forester near me and I'm looking to buy it as a first car using the family's retired outback as a trade-in. Is it a good bet? It does have AWD and side airbags, so that can't hurt.Great choice. All wheel drive, good mpg, safe, and not too fast. Should be cheap on insurance and license, too. Car and Driver magazine likes it and they only like sports cars.I would think it would be a great first car, it has lots of power, yet has good mpg and has low insurance because it has four doors. It also has AWD which also helps if you live where it snows. I wish i could have a Forester for my first car, I think you should get it.The 2008 Subaru Forester is a great choice. ...... - 2010-03-09

Can they sack me for not being able to do those shifts when i made it perfectly clear what i could and could not do when i went back to work. The first thing you should do is contact your union and get some advice from them. Secondly, ask your co-workers if they are happy with the new roster system. Are you allowed to swap shifts? There might be someone that would like to swap shifts with you. » XBMC as Dashboard on hardmodded console
Hi, i was wondering how i boot to XBMC having a hardmod on my console. Im used to softmods so i know the story about the XBE Shortcut maker and the XBTool solution too. - Sadly none of those works, when i alter the evoxdash.xbe and replace it with the original and try booting, it ends up freezing with the Xbox logo on screen. Its modified with an Aladin chip, you know the one where you hold down the power button a little longer to boot Evox, otherwise it starts up with the original MS Dashboard. I cant install anything to the E drive, only when installing a complete softmod it lets me do that, but i cant manually install to E. So everything runs from the 80gb harddrive (F drive) - Including XBMC, now how the hell do i get it booting ...... - 2010-03-09
» Colour Correction - Order of Operations
I have been reading a lot about adjusting RAW images in PS, and I understand what all of the adjustments do, but one thing I keep running into is where one adjustment will affect another. This results in going back and forth and battling with them. Is there a proper order to the adjustments? These are the adjustments that I am talking about: (in no particular order) -White Balance -Hue/Saturation -Brightness/Contrast -Removing colourcasts -tonal adjustments -sharpening Or, if someone has a nice workflow that they use, that would be great.A lot of that can be done with adjustment layers, so each adjustment is independant and completely reversable. I always sharpen last, some say you should resize and then sharpen but I can't tell much of...... - 2010-03-09

Save your track spikes for meets. If you aren't able to invest in a separate pair of running shoes you could wear the track shoes without spikes for practice and put the spikes in when you run in meets.

Please tell me.Science is not another form of religion, because science is always allowed to be updated and revised through hypothesis testing. In fact, they are polar opposites. » I had a dream that Kate Winslet died. If it comes true could it mean I'm psychic?
Buddy, let me tell you something. No, not necessarily. Micheal Shermer, publisher of Skeptic magazine, put it best, when something like this happens and it actually happens, you might think "what are the odds?" Well let's examine them. The average person has about 5 dreams per day, which equals 1,825 dreams a year. Even if you only remember 1/10 dreams (you will forget most of them) that's still 182.5 remembered dreams per year. There are 295 billion Americans (Go America!), so that means there will be 53.8 billion remembered dreams every year. Anthropologists and sociologists tell us that each of us knows about 150 people, meaning you can say something significant about 150 people, about. That means there is a network grid ...... - 2010-03-09
» How to counter a rugby tackle? (10pts)?
What are some ways to counter a rugby tackle in a fight?True story: A friend of mine was playing around in the street and suddenly charged into me and went for my hips, football/rugby style. I stepped out of the way to the side, put one hand on the back of this neck and the other hand grabbed his belt and just pulled him along past me. His momentum carried him through and he almost went through a store glass window. Luckily he managed to stop himself in time. There's another thread I've answered concerning defending a single leg takedown. Slightly different than rugby tackle for the hips but you might want to check it out to get an idea: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...sprawl like a wrestler. hand in front,...... - 2010-03-09
» firefox vs maxthon
hey guyz plz tell me the diferences between firefox browser and maxthon in terms of:- 1) security from viruses and spywares 2) browsing speed 3) system resourses they consume while runningPoint Number 1: Maxthon is IE-based. Point Number 2: Both Firefox and IE have a few security holes info on which is available at www.secunia.com. Loading speed - in Windows, IE will probably be fast...... - 2010-03-09

I like the close-up. For my personal taste, I would lighten the cat, and then crop it to 4:5 ratio (8x10). There's a lot of bright space on the right, and it pulls my attention. A person's eyes tend to go to the light areas of an image, so brightening the cat and reducing the amount of background will keep the background from fighting with the subject. » Need source for bulk quantities of medical "Super Glue" for wounds
Im looking to buy a chemical variant of Super Glue: N-2-butylcyanoacrylate, sometimes called simply butyl cyanoacrylate or butylcyanoacrylate. I intend to use it in a medical device, so it should be of medical grade. The glue is used to close wounds instead of stitches. (It is typically applied with a device similar to a medicine dropper, but Im looking for just the liquid.) Heres an example of the glue in use as Histoacryl, a product made by Germanys Aesculap, a division of B. I have recently bought myself a japanese bow. I am finding difficulty in finding the accessories to go with it. I do have a book telling me how to do Kyudo and do belong to a local archery club (Bowmen of Charnwood). There appears to be no Kyudo club in the local area (Warwickshire) and any site I have found is limiting as I am a left handed archer and I can only find right handed gloves. The bow itself is great, but I am using western grip and tabs. Any help much appreciated thanks. :? :?Hello,MYCERNIUS san. I examined it about "kyudou". "kyudou" does not have a left-handed tool. » What is net force??!!?
what is the net force of an object?Force on Earth is a weight.

Remembering this can help in many problems.

» Which is better real or fake?
I'm trying to decide on a Christmas tree. Which do you prefer artificial trees or fresh ones, and why?Artificial. 1. Prelit trees are amazingly easier for set-up. 2. If you want pine smell it comes as an air freshener. 3. With the scent many people can't tell if it's real or fake anyway. 4. Sharp decrease in the potential for a house fire. Artificial are made to avoid catching fire. Real trees aren't. 5. Pine needles falling all over your floor won't dictate when you take your tree down. The artifical stays lush and full the whole time. 6. No bugs. The trick to purchasing an artifical tree is to get the ones that have the branches attached. You only have to connect 2-3 pieces. When storing the tre...... - 2010-03-09

» I don't get the "What did the silly comedian bake on his day off?" joke?
Can someone please explain why the answer is "cornbread". Thanks a bunch.that's really CORNY...that's a bad joke. The clues here are "silly" and "bake". Because many jokes that aren't funny to some listeners is considered not funny but "Corny"... thus 'cornbread'. Here's and example: "How did the Horsefly gets its name?" Answer: "His parents gave it to him." I personally think its funny, but others might think it goofy or corny. Okay, have a great weekend.shake and bake baby...... - 2010-03-09

» What do I do........?
I've got a friend... well I did. She always goes off in a mood at people, and expects them to all just come back to her. I've never heard her apologise... ever. She thinks she's always in the right. Today she was ignoring me. On my way to school, I saw her across the road and waved at her, she ignored me. I'm just so sick of her, so i've blanked her all day. Apparently, she cried today because I 'ignored her'. I hate the way she does this, and it's not just me... it's everyone. All of our friend's are like, "you should go and talk to her and sort this out". "You cant fight like this forever". Why can't they see her the way she is? And why do they all expect me to sort ...... - 2010-03-09

» To bail out the auto industry, why doesn't the government just buy cars?
Rather than giving the industry free money, why not buy cars and then discount them to needy poor people with no transportation?

Hello i want to know how to add Paypal Buttons for each Subscription i want to put all Subscription Buttons on the navbar so no need to go to Subscription page to pay from there but has the same function of the Subscription page ThanksThere is no feature for that. That should work, but it might be sensitive to changes made to your subscriptions in the Admin CP. It's a crude solution....... - 2010-03-09
» Can they Sack me?What can i do?
i work for one of the largest supermarket chains in Australia , my store is cutting hours and changing shifts i am permanent, but i cant do the roster change they are proposing,i have a 2 yr old daughter and the new roster means there is no one to pick her up from daycare or look after her. Good Luck!Texas is a "right to work" and a "right to fire" stat...... - 2010-03-09
